The City of Gold Coast's Emerging Exporters Program

The City of Gold Coast's Emerging Exporters Program assists businesses to develop export capabilities and explore international markets.

This program consists of 4 x 3 hour sessions and is developed for Gold Coast businesses, new to export, and emerging exporters breaking into new markets and channels overseas. 

The programs will enable business owners and staff of small and large companies to develop the skills and knowledge to develop and implement an export plan.

Export experts are engaged to deliver two variations of export training:

• Emerging Exporters Program Driving Export Growth
• Emerging Exporters Program Exporting Online
• Who should attend the free training program?

The workshops are more than training, there is practical hands on advice, with context and discussion around key topics. There is also scope for personal feedback and support through the Tradestart Gold Coast Export Adviser.

The Emerging Exporters Program Driving Export Growth supports the business to develop and grow traditional offline export sales. It covers:

• How and why to export resourcing and expectations
• Where to export market validation and selection
• Market entry strategies across markets and cultures
• Critical success factors in detail financing, legal, IP, documentation, logistics, distribution
• Marketing and sales overseas pricing, branding, pitching, reaching customers, converting sales
• Visiting the region trade show, leveraging trade agencies and networks
• Launching a product offline and leveraging online tools

The Emerging Exporters Program Exporting Online supports the business to develop and grow export sales through online channels and e-commerce platforms. It covers:

• Driving international website traffic and sales
• Processing and fulfilling international payments and delivery
• Regulations, documentation and legal issues for online export sales
• Automating trade show follow up and partner training
• Launching a product in a market online and offline
• Markets focus USA, Japan and Korea
• Launching a product offline and leveraging online tools

Workshops include real life examples, and are highly interactive. Participants are encouraged to share their experiences and learn from the group.

The workshop masterclasses will be delivered throughout 2016 and 2017.
