Greetings Members

As we dive into October, the busy season has begun as we continue to flourish through Spring, and the Gold Coast seeing lots of inter-state and international tourists enjoying the beautiful sunshine as well as kids going back to school.

We welcome back students for the last semester of 2024!  The recent school break saw a boost in tourism across the Gold Coast as NSW students visit the gorgeous sunshine State to relax and unwind. This influx is not only great for local businesses but also underscores the Gold Coast’s appeal as a prime destination.

Looking ahead, preparations for the annual Gold Coast 500 at Main Beach are in full swing. This exciting racing event is set to attract a host of interstate tourists, contributing significantly to our local economy. It’s an excellent opportunity for locals to engage with visitors and showcase the best our region has to offer!

Election season is officially here! With candidates ramping up their campaigns, you’ll soon notice plenty of signage across the Gold Coast. It’s essential to stay informed and make your voice heard by voting for the candidate who has the right priorities for Queensland’s future.

If you haven’t registered yet, postal vote applications are open so that you can vote if you are unable to attend a booth in person. You can apply for a postal vote and receive your ballot paper by visiting the ECQ website or contacting our office for assistance. Remember, early voting starts on 14th October and booths will be open from 8am – 6pm, Monday to Friday until voting day on the 26th of October.

Let’s make the most of this bustling season, support local initiatives, and ensure you vote at the upcoming State election so that we can bring positive change for Queenslanders!

As always, if you have any State issues you would like to discuss with me, don’t hesitate to contact my office.
