How does your small business benefit from the new Banking Code of Practice?
Join keynote speaker, Anna Bligh, CEO of the Australian Banking Association, for a discussion on all things business and banking. Anna will also be joined by panelists Justin Smirk, Senior Economist for Wesptac and Murray d'Almeida, Businessman and Deputy Chancellor and Chair of the Audit and Risk Management Committee of Southern Cross University, for this interesting discussion on Friday 3rd April from 7.00am to 9.00am in the Hinterland Room of the Surfers Paradise Marriott Resort and Spa.
On July 1st Australia's banks adopted the new Banking Code of Practice, which represents a commitment to higher standards and more ethical behaviour. The Code, which is broken down into ten sections, outlines how banks will better deal with vulnerable customers, and for the first time contains a dedicated small business section. Under the new Code, small business contracts will be simplified, loan conditions will be fairer and small business customers with be given a longer notice period should loan conditions change. Anna will discuss the newly adopted Banking Code of Practice and the impacts this will have on our local business community.
