Gold Coast Light Rail Stage 3 update - November 2020
Design and construction of the Broadbeach to Burleigh Heads light rail extension on the Gold Coast Highway is moving forward with major construction expected to start in 2021.

Preparation of the site on the corner of Gold Coast Highway and Goodwin Terrace network is almost complete. The site will be used to widen the Gold Coast Highway to accomodate the Burleigh Heads station and a connection between the light rail and bus services.
Pre-construction activities will continue along the corridor with investigation works such as soil sampling and the use of ground-penetrating radar to map and capture information on underground services.

Have you completed the Business Operations Questionnaire?
If you are a business on or near the Gold Coast Highway between Broadbeach and Burleigh Heads jump online now and complete the Gold Coast Light Rail Stage 3 Business Operations Questionnaire at

Information you supply in the questionnaire will be shared with the appointed design and construction contractor for their consideration about how to support business operations during construction.
