I hope your New Year has gotten off to a great start and that 2017 will be the finest yet for you and all Queenslanders.
Now onto what's been happening and a snapshot of what I have been doing (minus all the meetings, hearings and the rest)
Gold Coast Seniors Tennis Club official opening
It was a privilege to participate in the official opening of new facilities at Pizzey Park Tennis Centre in January.
I worked hard with the Gold Coast Seniors Tennis and Miami Tennis Clubs to secure almost $600,000 in funding under an LNP Government for the upgrades and its great to see the visions become reality. The expanded facilities will cater for all ages and players of all standards.
Burleigh Headland Oceanview track works starting soon
Resurfacing of the Oceanview track is scheduled to commence mid-March, with completion anticipated by the end of June (weather dependent).
Work on the track will be completed in three stages and sections of the track will be closed while work is undertaken. Alternative walking tracks will be available via the Rainforest circuit.
Further updates will be provided in early March following finalisation of the construction contract.
Southern Gold Coast Light Rail
Late last year I commissioned a talented group of Parliamentary interns from QUT to undertake a study into taking the Light Rail to the Southern Gold Coast.

The results don't necessarily reflect my preferred route and the report doesn't take into account the financial constraints and budget requirements.
