Business in Central Gold Coast

The Gold Coast Central Chamber of Commerce region comprises of Burleigh Heads, Broadbeach, Robina, Varsity Lakes, Nerang and Surfers Paradise.  This region is home to a vast range of small, medium and large businesses specialising in manufacturing, retail, tourism and professional services. 

This region covers approximately 46% of the Gold Coast business community is home to some of Australia's largest companies.

Each of the precincts have their own unique characteristics:

Surfers Paradise

The iconic tourist strip, Surfers Paradise offers a mix of leisure and professionalism with the area being the hub of many International recognised Tourism operators, Hotels, Professional Service Operators and high end Retail.  With the re-development of the esplanade, Surfers Paradise continues to be a destination for the domestic and international tourism markets.


A beautiful mix of beach, shopping and entertainment, Broadbeach precinct and surrounds continues to flourish.  The home of the Gold Coast Convention and Entertainment Centre as well as 5 star accommodation resorts, Broadbeach has become a popular destination for corporates, conference and family travellers.  It is also home to a growing business community with large media organisations such as Southern Cross Austereo operating within the area. Broadbeach continues to be host to a number of nationally recognised festivals including the annual Blues on Broadbeach.

Burleigh Heads

Offers a relaxed coastal village feel with an eclectic mix of retail and dining surrounding the cosmopolitan James Street precinct, while further inland the suburb is home to Burleigh West Shopping Centre and a thriving showroom, warehouse and manufacturing precinct.


Home to one of the southern hemisphere's largest shopping centres, Robina Town Centre, and home to the Gold Coast's number one national sporting team, the Gold Coast Titans.  Robina is also an important transport hub for the central Gold Coast with Robina Train Station catering for commuters heading north to Brisbane, while the station and the nearby town centre serve as a vital bus interchange.

Varsity Lakes

Gold Coast's newest and arguably its fastest growing business hubs is home to a range of professional services ranging from lawyers and accounts to travel agents. It is also home to one of Australia's best-known educational institutions in Bond University.  Varsity has also seen a significatn growth in Health related services with the Local Robina Hospital and a number of private clinics now operating within the region.


With easy access to the M1 motorway and heavy rail network, Nerang proves to be a continual growth hub for businesses that require quick access to Brisbane as well as Central and Southern regions of the Gold Coast. It's a business hub with many small to medium size businesses operating within the region.
